£64 this will set you back, an action figure of Steve Jobs complete with miniature iPad and iPhone.

Now any normal action figure would not cost this much! You would normally look at around £15 for an action figure? Now just because of Apple’s status, does this really mean they can charge this much? The company that made the figure have depicted it as a masterful action figure and not just some cheap toy.

The former chief executive of Apple, who died last year, comes in his classically accustomed black turtleneck and blue jeans and is available from February onwards. Extras are also available at an extra cost; these extras include an iPhone 4 and a copy of the first Mac computer.

InIcon, the manufacturers of the figure will also include a spare pair of glasses and extra hands that can be used to interact with the prop extras.

Strange as this idea may sound, it has been attempted before by a company called MIC Gadget at a slightly lower selling price of £57. However the product was blocked by Apple’s lawyers and they had the following to say: “Mr Jobs has not consented to the use of his name and/or image in the Product. Unauthorized use of a person’s name and/or likeness constitutes a violation of California Civil Code Section 3344, which prohibits the use of any person’s name, photograph or likeness in a product without that person’s prior consent.”

Now that Steve Job’s is deceased, it is not clear that the same rules apply. InIcon are offering a number of props a long with the action figure that display Apple products and logos, so something will definitely be said before the February release date.

Let’s hope Microsoft don’t follow up this release with a Bill Gates figure!

Digital technology involves the signals which are not as smooth as the signals used by the currents and analog voltage. Digital technology actually generates and stores and also processes data as a string of binary digits. These are also known as bits which are represented by 1 and 0. The history on the modern digital technology is a thing which can be actually traced back to the time when work was done on the semiconductors.

Importance of digital technology

There has been a digital revolution since the late 20th century. The digital technology can be found nowadays almost in every electronic item starting from the computers to other kinds of gadgets too; for example the cell phones, the digital cameras, the camcorders and also the MP3 players. Digital technology is advantageous enough as it allows you to scan books and other documents into digital form and can then be assessed through the online process.

Latest updates on digital technology

Microsoft is trying to launch Xbox TV later this year itself. They are actually trying to succeed with a thing trying which most of the others like Apple, Sony and even Google have failed to succeed. Microsoft wants to change the way people actually watch TV. They have even held demonstrations on the way they are going to change the whole thing. They have also said that along with the video on demand, Xbox is going to provide people with live television.
Another change that has happened is that the Google-Motorola deal has come together. From the previous discussions which were made early in July this year, to a more formal kind of announcement on the 15th of August, Google have made a swift move so as to secure the $12.5 billion takeover of the Motorola Mobility.
Another change that is going to happen is the Wall Street Journal and the live video programming. The Wall Street Journal has announced that they are going to upgrade the video digital technology. They are going to make a major expansion of their video unit. They are going to produce more live programming each day so as get increased number of viewers and also increased number of advertisers.
Digital technology is a fascinating thing that can bring various changes in our world. That is what it is doing too, with the fast advancements in the world powers, the digital technology is advancing too at a great speed.

Freescale Semiconductor

It stated that on-board safety systems could be hacked, citing a recent demonstration of this. ”Last year, researchers of the University of California, San Diego, and the University of Washington demonstrated that critical safety components of a vehicle can be hacked if physical access to the vehicle’s electronic components inside the passenger cabin is available,” said the report.
The report added that this type of attack could also be conducted remotely by exploiting the BlueTooth capabilities installed in many modern cars. ”Web-based vehicle-immobilisation systems that can remotely disable a car could be manipulated [by hackers]. ”The immobilisation system is meant to be a theft deterrent but could be used maliciously to disable cars belonging to unsuspecting owners,” it said.

Privacy issues also arise from the use of radio frequency identification (RFID) tags, which are used in car tyres to provide sensor data over wireless short-distance communication to the vehicle.

Researchers in the US have found a way to power mobile phones using the motion energy caused when walking. They have made a device that can be placed in a shoe and captures the energy of moving micro droplets which is converts in to electrical energy. This is already used in some watches and sensors.

What happens is the device contains liquid droplets which are converted in to electrical current from the movement. The power generated is enough to recharge a phone or laptop but a way to get the energy form the device to the handset had not yet been completely thought out. A possibility is plugging a USB cable in to the shoe or use a wireless transmitter which is more practical.

Eurostar has brought out a new app for the iPhone and Android. It allows customers to book their tickets using their phone, rather than having to do it from a computer or at a ticket office. The new website, allows you to search for journeys and then book them. You will receive a bar code on your phone, which you can use as a ticket when you board. Tickets between the UK, Lille, Paris and Brussels can be purchased in this way.

This has been developed to make it easier for those who travel on the train regularly. Customers can still collect loyalty points, if they are a member of one of the loyalty schemes, even if they book using their phone. Loyalty points balances can also be checked using the phone. The application was developed to make booking easier for the many customers that have smart phones. It should not only make it easier to book in advance but also reduce the queues at the ticket office at the time of travel. The app will also allow customers to see if there are any disruptions to journeys and they have their own profile page where they can put in seat preferences and things like that.

Samsung has now got a court date where it will be challenging the ban on its European sales of the Galaxy Tab 10.1. Apple had brought an injunction against the company and it plans to do the same thing in the Netherlands as well, which is not covered by the European ban that it currently has in place.

At the moment it is banned from promoting, selling or importing the tablet across most of Europe but it will appear in court to put a stop to this. It is expected that within a few weeks of the court date a decision will be made as to whether the ban can be lifted. At the moment some retailers do have the product because the injunction does not cover the sale by third parties.

In the Netherlands things are little more complicated because Apple claims that Samsung copied its design and then infringed specific patents. It claims that the touch screen and photo management software are both copyright infringements because they are so close to what Apple currently offers on its products. With Rotterdam being a key port for import of Samsung products to Europe the ruling in this country could be all the more significant.

Research carried out by Plymouth University has shown that a third of teachers have been abused online. 72% came from pupils with the rest coming from parents. Most of those who said they were abused were woman.

It was found that most of it was on hat via social networking sites but some Facebook groups were set up in order to bully teachers. Some put up videos of teachers on YouTube and others put abusive comments about staff on the website ratemyteacher.com.

The research found that sometimes the parents were not only abusing staff but also pupils at the school and so it needs to be sorted out. The study found that some teachers even had break downs as a result of the bullying and there has been a group set up to help teachers in this situation. It was concluded that parents no longer use the normal means to talk to a teacher about problems but use social media instead.

A Facebook representative said that what happens online is just the same as what happens at the school gate but because it is not in writing then it cannot be stopped. Abuse on Facebook can be reported and something will be done about it.

News on the street is that Nintendo will be releasing a successor to the Wii. Is it just a rumour? We hope not.

It’s thought that plans for the Wii2 (if that’s what it will be named) will be revealed this summer.

There hasn’t been a new and exciting games console since 2006 since the Playstation and Wii launched in November 2006. The Xbox has recently begun to over take the Wii in popularity due to it’s adoption on Xbox Kinnect.
The Nintendo is initially responding to the threat posed by Xbox by decreasing its price and then stepping up the competition with this new console.
It is rumoured that the new Wii plans will be revealed at the E3 conference in LA and that Nintendo has been showing the new system to third-party developers in preparation for it’s supposed release at the end of 2012.
